2.
Snow 03:14
Ghostly pools, gathered water grow near the walls, under window sills Thunderstorms bury us whole Water spills from the roof Water seeps through the holes Devouring, devouring Home by the sea Stories of old Snow on the shore Swallow me whole Snow on the shore Swallow me whole

Ruins 04:48
Black dog always watching Lightning strikes nearby Is it just a warning Or are we out of time? Desecrated ruins Teenage paradise As the water simmers A generation dies Alone among stones We’re left to perish A lifetime postponed Desires gone Catatonic winter Monophonic sun Misdirected anger Nothing new to see Percolator coffee Burns slowly right through me

Angel 03:08
I could never swim With my head Underwater Always looking out For the scythe For the angel Driving in the rain I can see us both Toppling off the highway Into the sea There’s the scythe And the angel Waiting for me The apartment floods Ceilings crumble down Armed men in our house Glass floats in the air I see the scythe I see the angel

about

Last January, we spent 12 days in a traditional house in Jbeil as part of a residency offered by the lovely people at BBIMF. We took our instruments and installed a makeshift studio, with recording gear generously loaned to us by Tunefork Studios. It was so inspiring to be in that space together with nothing else to do but create, that we found ourselves with nearly finished 5 tracks in the first 2 days, and we decided to do an entire album.

Our trusted producer, friend and collaborator Fadi Tabbal was part of the process, and we also invited three musician friends, Serge Yared, Charbel Haber and Sary Moussa, to join us for one day each, and wrote tracks together.

In Parenthesis Vol.1 is out today exclusively on Bandcamp. It’s free, but you can choose to pay if you would like to support us.

The album was entirely composed, written, recorded, in the old house in Jbeil. It’s a product of the space, the surroundings, the weather. It was a completely different writing and recording process for us. The songs were recorded live, with barely any overdubs.
